Valerie graduated a semester early and joined the army. She received a medical discharge shortly afterwards from Fort Jackson, if i remember correctly. On the evening before she was to leave the base and return to Hawaii, it was reported that she died from an accidental drowning. Valerie was in the senior girls' service club, Athenades. She had planned to attend our senior prom with her boyfriend.

Funeral Notice May 1976:

Valerie Jean Wrenn, 19, of 1442 Haloa Drive died May 1 in Ft. Jackson, S.C. Services 11 a.m. Monday at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. Survived by father, Thomas; sisters, Vickie L. and Vivian M.
